A while back, LEGO launched the LEGO Insiders Community which served sort of a forum/news area for AFOLs by AFOLs. LEGO today has announced that it will be shutting down June 26 and the content will be integrated into LEGO Ideas. I don’t think many people used the LEGO Insiders Community platform since it was newly launched and I didn’t really see LEGO advertising it too much. The last content update was back in March while fans sparingly posted in the forum area. Did you use this platform or did you even know about it in the first place? We wanted to share an update with you. As part of the LEGO Group’s journey to offer fantastic experiences for adult builders, we’ve decided to close the LEGO® Insiders Community platform, effective June 26, 2024. We’re eager to innovate and find more ways to connect with you and other builders, and whilst...
Amazon has just discounted the LEGO Ideas A-Frame Cabin (21338) by 20% off the regular retail price. The set is now listed at $143.99 which saves you $36 on the set and makes it a way better buy for the 2,082 piece set. This is the first time that Amazon has dropped it by 20% and it probably won’t last too long at this price. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. LEGO on their social media accounts looks to be teasing another LEGO Transformers announcement. The short clip shows Optimus Prime (10302) which his famous phrase “Calling All Autobots” and fades to black with the words “Who will answer the call.” It looks like we’ll be getting another Autobot set and rumor has it that it could be his Second-in-Command, Bumblebee. The official announcement could be coming real soon. Today’s guest article comes from Casey McCoy, an AFOL from the Chicago-land area, an active MOC builder, and current Brickworld Master for a few more days. You can find him online on Flickr and Instagram. Meet Simon Liu In the North American LEGO Community, you’re hard-pressed to find someone as prolific, impactful and engaged as Simon Liu. A man whose MOC output and community engagement over a short baker’s dozen years rivals what most dedicated AFOLs hope to accomplish in their lifetime. He’s one of the biggest influences in our modern AFOL landscape, whether you know it or not—from community organization, build challenge creation, iconic build inspiration, parts spamming, and more! Online, you may see him masked in anonymity—imbued in the image of a Ferrero Rocher or Benny. However, in person, there’s no mistaking him. Simon’s spiky hair and cheery personality, with a large troupe of AFOLs/TFOLs in tow, are hard...
