Chungpo Cheng, that’s who! You might remember Chungpo’s work from a few weeks ago when we shared his stunning, super-sized Star Wars battle droids. This time, he chose to make big versions of the classic LEGO owl, rat and “cheese slope” elements. In particular, the owl is packed with lots of personality. Those big eyes and upturned eyebrows make Chungpo’s owl look warm and approachable. I almost want to hand-feed the little guy some birdseed! Chungpo has sculpted an excellent likeness of the original owl piece. He has even photographed the two side-by-side for comparison. It’s also pretty cool to see the brick-built rat next to its little LEGO sibling. The post Who....Who....Who can make an amazing owl? appeared first on The Brothers Brick. More than three years ago Arjan Oudekotte started design work on a new ship model. He then got side-tracked for a bit, building a few other things such as a lovely American themed harbour and a large excavator, while the unfinished ship gathered dust. He still has to add a few small details, but he has now finally posted pictures that show the model in its entirety. The ship, named Guardian in 2016, is chartered on behalf of the Netherlands Coast Guard for emergency towing operations on the North Sea. This mostly shallow sea has some of the busiest shipping lanes in the world, leading to the hubs such as the Port of Rotterdam. It is also dotted with offshore wind farms and oil and gas installations, so if a ship were to lose steering in those waters, there is a high risk of a collision. The Guardian normally sets out to sea...

The May/June 208 German flyer is now available and inside there’s a new promotional set that looks to be very interesting. From June 4-24 with purchases of 65€, you can get a free LEGO Creative Personalities (40291) set which is a set based on Hans Christian Andersen and his stories. As you can see from the image above, it is a pop-up book build that shows Andersen writing a story outdoors on a cobblestone area. The other side of the book shows a water area with a white swan. This is presumably based on the popular fairy tale story, The Ugly Duckling. There’s no word at this time whether or not this promotional set will be available here in the states. Maybe this set could be a hint to something we can also expect from LEGO Ideas. If you remember, the Pop-Up Book by JK Brickworks is currently under review on...
When the LEGO Star Wars Black VIP card was announced, it was stated that there would be special promotions for card holders who purchased the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) on the intial run. Fans have been wondering if they would ever get any promos or deals and it looks like there’s something coming next week during the May the 4th event. There are now unconfirmed rumors that there will be a special sweepstakes for one of the platinum R2-D2 minifigures for Black VIP card holders. This comes from a reader who was told by LEGO store employees from their local store. I’m not sure of the legitimacy of this piece of news but if you’ve heard something similar, let us know in the comments below. Supposedly, there’s also a special blueprint poster of the UCS Y-Wing Starfighter (75181) given out to card holders as well which I’ve heard from a few...
