Can you feel the nostalgia oozing out of this gorgeous little trophy-scale homage to LEGO Classic Space? The diorama by Paul Lee is a perfect micro replicant of a Galaxy Explorer, Rocket Launcher and Moonbase as they would appear in a 1980s LEGO catalogue. Special attention has been paid to getting the moon craters as close as possible to the classic baseplates. This build is simple and elegant with a lovely warm after-glow of sentimentality. The new summer wave of 2018 Ninjago sets has been revealed, and the ninjas this time have moved to what appears to be a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Their foes are a band of raiders, and we can’t help but think that the designers over in LEGO HQ in Billund might have had Mad Max: Fury Road playing in the background while working on these sets (a quite different vibe than the designers of the new City Hospital were channeling). The lineup also includes some more traditional Ninjago fare as well, such as flying spinners and of course several dragons. The blue dragon, 70652 Stormbringer, can be paired with LEGO Boost, as we saw in our hands-on demo at the New York Toy Fair back in February. And of course, the biggest set out of Ninjago’s summer wave is the new Ninjago City Docks which we revealed a few weeks ago. We’ll be bringing you a...
Last month, we got our first look at the long-awaited 60204 LEGO City Hospital, and today more images have surfaced online showing the details inside, including a minifigure arm cast, close ups of the vehicles and more. Price and piece count are still unknown, though the set should be available shortly with LEGO’s summer wave of sets hitting shelves soon. LEGO City does tend to prefer police and firefighters, so a hospital is a welcome addition. The poor minifigures need some place to treat all of their boo-boos, and it has been more than six years since the last time a hospital building was added to the city with the 4429 Helicopter Rescue set. Take a look at the new photos of the hospital below, including a look at each floor, a close-up of the ambulance and helicopter, and even two blueprints of the set. The post More photos of 60204...
I’m a major fan of both creations that move and animals, so when I saw this I knew I had to write about it! These beautiful little “long-necks” actually have the same lumbering movements as their real-life counterparts! They even swing their tails and bend their necks! These lovely mechanics are the work of Daniel Schlumpp. He put a ton of thought into the design of the mechanical components, and it definitely paid off! According to Dan, this is version 2.0, after having made similar dinosaurs with only the skeleton. He also says that he wants to continue improvements to create less strain on the motors. Check out the video of his latest awesome dinosaurs in action! Hopefully we get to see a whole series of these in the future, and maybe even a T-Rex! You know you’re in for a lucky run if you encounter the magical Loot Llama in Fortnite. Stocked with all sorts of useful materials and items, this wandering rainbow beast adds yet another zany element to the hit battle royale-style game, and it was begging to be turned into a LEGO model. Mike Nieves has done an excellent job of just that, capturing its many hues and even the wild-eyed expression and untamable tail. The studs-out technique works especially well here, adding fluff to the wool. The post Does this LEGO Loot Llama from Fortnite bring bricks? appeared first on The Brothers Brick.
