LEGO Retro Record Player (40699) Review
The main promotion for this year’s LEGO Insiders Weekend shopping event is the Retro Record Player (40699). The set has 310 pieces and requires a purchase of $250 or more on the LEGO Shop to get it. The build is spread out through four bags along with a bag for the clear panels.
Speaking of the panels, they are used for the glass cover to protect to record player. The glass is on hinges and you can prop it up using the bar on the right side.
The left side of the record player has the power button which you can push to turn on and off.
On the other side, you have the volume knob as well as a slider to change the speed of the record.
The needle bar is secured by an antenna and can turn to scratch the record. The record is able to spin by using the splat on the back side.
On the back side of the player, there are some auxiliary jacks. Also as mentioned before, there’s the splat piece to rotate the record.
The record itself uses some printed pieces decorated with musical notes.
Overall the LEGO Retro Record Player (40699) is a neat little set that will appeal to fans of vinyls and old-school music technology. It adds to the lineup of some other retro sets that LEGO has been released.
